Roundtable discussion: Knowledge Transfer for Smarter Regions – From Policy to Practice

23 September 2026 | 11.30–13.00 | Room A116

How can knowledge move more effectively between universities, businesses, public organizations, and regional innovation ecosystems?

Join us for a roundtable discussion exploring how knowledge is exchanged, adapted, and transformed into innovation, learning, and evidence-informed decision-making. The discussion brings together perspectives from regional government, higher education, industry, business development, entrepreneurship support, and applied research.

Panelists include Elina Aakko (Regional Council of Päijät-Häme), Antti Silvast (LUT University), Tommi Rissanen (Kempower), Antti Suikkanen (LADEC), Eric Littel (StartHub), Jaani Väisänen (LAB UAS), and Balázs Attila Szász (River / Scrambled Brain). Together, they will discuss the roles of policy, collaboration, trust, co-creation, and innovation intermediaries in strengthening regional innovation capacity and supporting smarter regional development.

The session is organized by the KnowledgeAnalytics project, funded by Interreg Europe.
